Wellness counseling for women

Being healthy sounds simple, right?

Get enough sleep, eat nutritious foods and workout. Every day? Yeah, right! Prioritizing our health is something that we as women don’t inherently do, which is why I’ve created a program that meets every woman where they are. I help women cut through the “nutrition noise” they are constantly bombarded with, and guide them towards evidence-based, proven methods to enhance their well-being. I work with you to understand your reality and identify small changes that can make a real difference. My goal is for you to feel stronger, energized, and empowered living the life you want

Philosophies

Philosophies

Sustainable + Healthy Life

My nutrition philosophy is based on helping clients achieve a sustainable, healthy lifestyle, not a quick fix. I value each client relationship and tailor nutrition services to fit your lifestyle. It is my mission to help clients develop a positive relationship with food and exercise, and achieve your health goals for life.

Cut Through the Nutrition Noise

One of the biggest challenges I hear from clients is finding reliable sources of health advice. The internet is a big and scary place full of conflicting opinions: from miracle ingredients and fad diets to detoxes and “nutrition gurus” selling their own products. It’s hard to know who to trust. I am a clinically-trained registered dietitian nutritionist (MS, RDN, CDN) with a no-nonsense New York attitude. I get to know you and your body and what you need and want from your nutrition. No BS.

The Big Picture

Health is holistic, not one-dimensional, just like you are! Food choices are often intertwined with other lifestyle factors and environmental stressors. I look at the big picture and help you find a way to make nutrition revolve around your lifestyle instead of your lifestyle revolving around your nutrition.

Sarah Rueven, MS, RDN, CDN

Founder

Sarah Rueven is a New York City-based Registered Dietitian. She received her undergraduate degree at Brandeis University, where she studied History and Education Studies. Like many of her clients, Sarah struggled with her weight and body image as a young adult. She made the conscious choice to turn things around, and began to educate herself about nutrition and wellness. As Sarah enjoyed the effects of all the healthy changes she was implementing, living a balanced and healthy life developed into a true passion. Having seen “the light”, Sarah wanted to find a way to share it with others.

After college, Sarah pursued a Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at New York University and was accepted into NYU's competitive Dietetic Internship program. Sarah completed her internship at New York University Langone Medical Center, where she gained invaluable experience providing clinical nutrition therapy to patients with a variety of different medical conditions including diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, HIV/AIDS, GI Disorders and hypertension.

In addition to her experience in the hospital setting, Sarah worked as a culinary intern at Rouge Tomate, the only restaurant in the United States that employs a full-time Registered Dietitian. She also interned in the private practice setting, helping to produce monthly columns for Women's Health Magazine and educational segments for the Today Show, Good Morning America and several other national news programs.

Sarah is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Greater New York Dietetics Association, the Women's Health Practice Group and the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group. She is a founding advisory board member of Robyn, a maternal wellness resource.
